Dale R. DeMarco, CPAPrior to founding the firm in 1979, Dale was manager of Norman J. Cutri, CPA. Today, he supervises the accounting and auditing practice of DeMarco Wachter & Co. and its compliance with professional standards. A member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, he has held a number of positions within the PICPA. These include President, President-Elect, Secretary Treasurer and Ethics Committee Member. Dale earned a B.S in Accounting as well as an MBA from Gannon University. He has also been an accounting instructor for Gannon University. Dale’s contributions to the community include serving as treasurer of the Erie Playhouse and active participation in the Lion’s Club of Erie and St. George Church, where he is chairman of the Finance Council and he is Treasurer of Lake View Country Club. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Service Award and James Kinnane Award for outstanding community service to the Erie Country Rape Crisis Center, Inc.
George F. Wachter, CPAGeorge is a founding partner of DeMarco Wachter & Co. His prior experience includes several years as a senior accountant with Norman J. Cutri, CPA and a staff accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also been an accounting instructor for Gannon University. George earned a B.S. in Accounting from Gannon University. His major area of concentration is corporate and individual taxes, estate consultation, audits of 401(k) plans and for profit business auditing. George is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the AICPA Tax Division.
Richard F. Wachter, CPARichard, a partner in DeMarco Wachter & Co. since 1981, earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Gannon University. He also obtained a certificate from Bucknell University School of Banking. His major area of concentration is business consulting. Prior to joining the firm, Dick was employed by Union Bank and Trust, Co. (now Citizens Bank), where he attained the position of Business Development Officer. He has used this unique perspective in helping clients to become successful. He has also been an Accounting Instructor for Gannon University. Dick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He spent several years as an Instructor for the Erie Chamber of Commerce in Total Quality Transformation, and was a past recipient of the Salesman of the Year Award presented by the Sales & Marketing Executives of Erie. Dick also serves on the board of Catholic Charities and on the panel for the Athena Power Link Program. He also was a member of the Advisory Board of National City Bank.
